Meet Waylon! This brave little rat terrier has faced unimaginable challenges in her short life, and now she’s ready to conquer her biggest adventure yet—finding her forever family! You may remember when Waylon came into our care last November after the heartbreaking loss of her owner. Just when we thought she was ready for a fresh start, we discovered she was pregnant. Our medical team confirmed 2-3 tiny heartbeats, and although we had high hopes, we sadly learned that her puppies had passed away before delivery. We grieved alongside Waylon and helped her heal from her loss. Shortly after, she was spayed to ensure that she wouldn't have to endure the pain of motherhood again. Through it all, Waylon has shown us her incredible strength and resilience. She's truly blossomed in her foster home, becoming healthier and more vibrant every day. Now, she's ready to find a family that will give her the love she truly deserves! Currently, Waylon is living with a small dog and a kitty companion. While we believe she could happily coexist with another gentle pup or calm kitty friend, we think she would thrive as the center of attention after everything she has been through. Her ideal day includes relaxing in the sunshine, snuggling up on the couch during your work hours, enjoying leisurely walks, and joining you for a delicious pup cup the next time you stop for coffee! Waylon’s journey has been filled with ups and downs, but through it all, we believe her previous owner loved her dearly—and we want to honor that love by finding Waylon the perfect forever family.
