My Story

Meet Wednesday, a two and a half year old Boxer/Hound mix weighing 72 pounds. Wednesday was found roaming before being brought to us. She is very sweet but still shy and unsure of the kennel environment. Wednesday has the cutest little docked tail and we know she has to have had a family since she was well taken care of when she was brought to us. She welcomes calm attention and would do best in a home with no young kids for right now due to her nervousness but we could see her being fine with kids once she has gained some confidence. She doesn't seem to know what the leash is so she is needing someone to show her that walking on leash is good, but she does follow you if you give her a chance. Wednesday loves attention and once she starts getting pets she doesn't want them to stop! She just needs someone to put in the time and she will devote herself to them. This pet is available for adoption on 1/29/2025 at 8:51 AM at the Yakima Humane Society adoption center. If you recognize this animal please contact the adoption center at 509-457-6854. Did you know YHS lets local community members FOSTER TO ADOPT? That's where you and the pet make sure you're a good fit for one another by having a fun sleepover prior to finalizing your adoption. It's a win-win for everyone! Just ask our front desk staff about how it works. Interested in adopting this or another YHS pet? Please complete our adoption questionnaire found at: https://yakimahumane.org/adopt/apply/ Our adoption fee includes a lovable companion, spay/neuter, vaccinations and intestinal worming, flea/tick treatment, rabies vaccine (for pets over 3-4 months of age) and a microchip with nationwide registration. Your adoption fee helps support YHS and our spay/neuter efforts in the community to end overpopulation of cats and dogs. If you have any questions, please e-mail us at [email protected].
