Hi, my name is Wendell. My name is special because I was named after the rescue coordinator at the shelter I came from. I was brought to the shelter by a good samaratin - actually, I found my way on to the person’s porch trying to get help for myself. Maybe taking me to a shelter was not the best way to help me, but it did get me to Lizzy’s. (Due to my injuries, they were going to euthanize me that afternoon, so I am very very thankful to Lizzy’s for taking me in and helping me.) I am a 5 year old, 18lb Chihuahua mix. I was very sick when I came to Lizzy’s. The vet thought that I had probably been attacked by a wild animal a while ago and nothing was done to address the injuries. I had a gaping hole near my leg that was infected (along with my back leg), a puncture that went through my stomach and spleen that needed repair, etc. Surgery went well, I am all healed up and extra healthy, and am ready to start my new life with my new forever family. I love other dogs and love my people, also. I do enjoy a walk and feel dapper when sporting a colorful bandana. I know not to pee in the house. I have not been crated much, but I can crate when needed. I was an outside dog, so I love being inside and have my dog bed – nice and fluffy… I share it with the other pups, also.
