Hello, I’m Whitney, a 3-year-old, 70-lbs. female Akita mix who is looking for her furever home! I just gave birth to a litter of NINE puppies! Luckily a very kind man in Mexico fed me because he feared I would get hit by a car scrounging for food. Soon after, me and my large brood were taken in by the Cantu Foundation. I am working on getting spayed. Crate training is in progress too! For being a stray for as long as I can remember, I’m getting the hang of my leash training and I’m fully potty trained! I’m a gentle, smart, and timid gal. When I’m not enjoying treats and belly rubs or following my humans around the house, I’m using my energy to feed my nine babies. I’m still decompressing from the whirlwind of the last few weeks. I’m still adjusting to living indoors and learning that I’m safe now. So new people and situations make me timid and sometimes anxious. I haven’t been around too many other dogs or children lately, but I do get along with cats. Though I’m an affectionate mama, I’m not the biggest cuddler or social butterfly (again - nine kids takes a lot of my energy these days!) My dream home is one that is quiet and chill. I don’t get reactive around the few dogs I’ve been around lately, but I’d need to be slowly introduced to other dogs to see how I feel. I’m shy at first around new people, but treats warm me up! With some love, patience, and time adjusting to home life, I know more of my personality will blossom, making me the perfect com-paw-nion!
