My Story

Willie is a classic heeler through and through-loyal, energetic, and always up for an adventure. He loves going on walks, especially on quiet trails or in neighborhoods with low car traffic, and has an impressive stamina that keeps him going until he's completely tuckered out. Since he's working on shedding a few pounds, he'd thrive with someone who can help him manage his exercise. An active household would be a great fit for him, though a yard isn't a necessity-he's more about the quality time than the space! Willie is fully housetrained and seems to be crate-trained as well! He enjoys having his crate as a safe and quiet retreat, where he can rest undisturbed. While his foster family leaves the crate open for him to come and go as he pleases, he also does well being crated when left alone. At night, he sleeps soundly in his crate without making a peep. Things Willie Loves: Being close to his people-he's a little shadow who wants to be wherever you are. Human food, especially chicken (he's got good taste!). Pup Cups and visits to barista windows. Lamb lung treats. Snuggles! Once he's comfortable, he's all about cuddles. He'll respect personal space if you ask, but he'd rather not! Willie is looking for a home where he can be part of the action, whether that means going on adventures or just hanging out with his favorite humans. If you're looking for a loyal, loving, and active companion, Willie Nelson might be your perfect match! The Seattle Animal Shelter is committed to reducing length of stay for all of our shelter pets! Some pets qualify for FREE or reduced adoption fees, please inquire with our Animal Care team to learn more. Pets are complex beings and prior to adoption, interested adopters will be counseled by a staff member to discuss the specific needs for each animal. This will include reviewing all known medical and behavior information. ** Please note that some animals will receive numerous inquiries, sometimes more than we can process.
