Meet Willow! Willow is a beautiful lemon colored Foxhound apx. 9 yrs old. A stray at a Shelter, she captured out hearts as every bone showed. This girl has not stopped wagging her tail! Typical to Foxhounds, she is very sweet. She wants to be friends with every dog, person, cat she meets! Willow does have a few medical issues that we are helping her with. She is underweight due to malnutrition, etc. She is gaining weight. Willow is going to be a big girl, probably 50+ lbs. After she gets some weight, she will have her teeth cleaned, some lumps & bumps looked at when spayed. Willow did test positive for heartworms & treatment has started. (Love Mutts covers the cost of her medical care needed to get her ready for adoption) Willow was probably used for hunting, is not the most graceful as she is used to tramping through the woods after deer. For that reason I would recommend Willow not be with a family that has small children, only as she is learning (gets excited, forgets how big she is!) Willow loves to play & would do well with a other dog that is similar in size. She walks ok on a leash, but we are practicing that too. Even though this poor girl was starving to death, she has zero food aggression. She just put her whole head in the dog food bin-I was able to push her away with my hand to her muzzle. Her tail didn't stop wagging.
I don't think Willow had been in a house before, so we are working on house training & general manners. She is starting to understand that she should potty outside. She is crate trained, but would prefer to just lay on a comfy bed.
