Wink. Wink. Wink. You’ve never met such a special girl. Wink is 4 years old and spent her life in a pole barn producing litter after litter for a local “breeder”. She was given away for free to a community member and got loose before ever getting into the home. Wink spent about 2 weeks outside fending for herself before we were able to successfully trap her. While out and people were chasing her, she ran into brush, puncturing her eye. Sadly it was not salvageable but you’d never notice she’s a one eyed girl! Wink has spent the last several months with a positive reinforcement trainer we work closely with. We are pretty specific about her needs as she’s a special girl! Wink warms up to people nicely and enjoys pets and cuddles once comfortable. She gets along great with other dogs and would love to have a playmate but that isn’t required. Wink would do fine with children 12 or older. Toddlers are not her speed. She does require a yard with privacy fencing as she still wonders about her days out on the lamb. She also needs a home that will be patient with her as she acclimates the first week or two. A busy household with lots of doors opening and closely us not her speed nor us a home that travels and takes their dogs with them, whether that’s for errands or travels. She is perfectly fine being a home body and frankly, that’s safest for her as she may try to repeat adventures of months ago. She’s potty trained and does great in a crate. She has a ton of personality and will make an excellent dog for a dog savvy quieter home. Wink is spayed, vaccinated, chipped, dewormed, has a negative heartworm/lyme test and is on monthly preventatives. We do require a phone interview and then a meet to make sure she’s a good fit for her avd for the family. We are an all volunteer run organization.
