Winston

Meet Winston! This handsome boy is a 10 month old Poodle/Coonhound mix. He's hoping now to have to stay at the shelter too long, and that a forever family will come find him soon! Winston was brought to us alongside his sister, Bella (who has her own listing here on our Petfinder!) He was surrendered through no fault of his own; unfortunately, his owner just didn't have time for Winston or his sister. Winston is an incredibly sweet boy, and is just a little shy at finding himself here. He ants love from everyone he meets, but just asks that you go slow until he feels more comfortable. Winston grew up around other dogs and does great with them. His previous owner did tell us that Winston can get a little too excited while playing, and might accidentally hurt a small or old dog. Winston has also never been around cats or kids. While he's super sweet, with his nervousness we don't think he'd appreciate kids that are gonna get in his face or grab at him until he's comfortable. We always recommend a meet and greet with pets or kids in the home prior to adoption. Winston lived in an outdoor kennel prior to coming here, so he hasn't had much training. He's not housebroken yet, and doesn't know any commands. He's still young enough, and smart enough, though, that with a little bit of patience he'll be there in no time! Winston, being part Poodle, is also a dog that will need regular grooming. We've given him a bath and trim here at the shelter, and he's already looking and feeling much better.
