CODE RED/EMERGENCY AT RIVERSIDE, CA (JURUPA VALLEY)- Riverside County Shelter, So Cal – ID #A1839630 “WINTER”- EUTH LISTED DUE TO MEDICAL NEEDS- GORGEOUS 40 LB, YOUNG MAN, CAME IN BLEEDING AND NEEDS IMMEDIATE RESCUE –WE ARE DESPERATELY LOOKING FOR A FOSTER AND RESCUE TO SAVE HIS LIFE. RESCUES NEED FOSTERS TO HELP! DOG FRIENDLY
HELP!!! This handsome young man we are fondly calling Winter was found as a stray with a wound to his chest oozing blood, with also an old, healed injury to his ear, and found to be anemic, possibly due to some internal bleeding.
He came off his stray hold on 2/4 and was added to the red/euth list the same day. Per the shelter, “dogs marked red status are cleared for euthanasia after 72-hours if not transferred to partner rescue groups or adopted by the public.”
However, after a few days and medical, Winter is improving, stable and eating more. The shelter has estimated Winter is only 2 years old, and he only weighs 40 lbs and is listed as a white chow, but may have an additional spitz breed in him such as samoyed and or husky. His tongue is black though. We are told he has several kennelmates, and was found with another dog, so he is dog friendly.
While he may be adopted with a medical waiver, we are also seeking a foster, or foster to adopt, as rescue groups need fosters to save dogs. It is unclear if Winter’s condition is related to an immune issue or he may have just been hurt, but we have his full medical notes if needed.
If you are interested to foster, please contact
[email protected] or Southern California Chow Chow Rescue Network asap so we can then try to refer you to a rescue group to hopefully save him in time.
If you are a rescue group and interested in pulling this beautiful dog, please email the shelter right away at
[email protected], and call (951) 358-7387.
