My Story

My new name is Yuki (yoo-kee). I am only 2 years old and was brought into the San Jose shelter with some fairly serious bumps and bruises after being hit by a car. My owner declined to pick me up, so the shelter volunteers began reaching out to rescues. As fate would have it, GSRNC heard about me, immediately came to the shelter, realized what a special girl I was, and the rest is history! I was in really bad shape. I didn't eat much while at the shelter so am pretty skinny, but rest assured, my appetite is growing. My foster mom is feeding me yummy kibble and so I'm gaining weight back. I am taking some meds due to the car accident, which I really don't like, but it's short-term until I get back to normal. I must admit, I do like the yummy treats they bribe me with! I am housetrained and happy to use the backyard, please be aware of my signals to go! I have a foster sister that I am getting along with. We walk together and my leash manners are pretty good. I am cautiously friendly with new dogs and back down quickly if they show any aggression. I haven't met any cats yet. My foster mom says I am a very sweet dog, friendly with just about any human, very easy and affectionate. I walk nice on a leash and am learning a few things like 'sit' and 'down'. I still have some recovery to go but each day is better and brighter for me. I'm so happy the rescue world saved me, and I can't wait to find my new home. Stay tuned for updates as I settle in with my foster family and recover from my accident.
