Meet Zane, a perfect family dog- loving, gentle and sweet with children of all ages and other dogs- big and small! Zane is a lover to his core, a gentle giant with an even bigger heart, who enjoys snuggling and laying his head on his foster moms chest. Zane loves toys, treats, and walks. Hes easy on leash and knows a handful of basic commands, including sit lay down and shake!
Zane is a gorgeous shepherd mix who is around 5 years old, and 80 pounds of gentle, soft, pure love. Zane is incredibly aware of his size, and always SO careful and gentle with other beings. He is potty trained, crate trained, and he is easy to have around! He is a pure family dog. Zane has an amazing demeanor, cool calm and collected, a total gentleman, obedient and sooo loving.

Zane currently lives with other dogs, big and small, including senior dogs, and gets along beautifully with them. He is playful, but not hyper, and takes cues from other dogs making him a stable pack member. Zane loves to play chase with the other dogs in the house. Play bow, gentle wrestling, he loves it all with his foster dog friends.
He's also sharing his foster home with three young children! Zane loves kids, and would cherish a home where he can spend his days playing with, and getting lots of pets from his little humans. He is such a gentle, kind, soul and this disposition makes for a perfect family dog. Zane loves to have children around, he follows them, sits at their feet with his chin up looking up at them to give kisses. He adores attention from children. He will also cuddle with them, laying his head on their chest. Zane is a favorite among our rescue kids, he meets new children so well and hes very tolerant with them. Ive watched a five year old poke Zane right in the eye, and Zane calmly moved his head and showed no signs of aggression, or even annoyance. This sweet boy really understands children, and has such a heart for them. 100% toddler-proof, Zane will make SUUUUUCH a good family dog.
Zane's energy level can best be described as moderate. He will have short bursts of energy, and then is content to snuggle on the couch, his crate, or on a dog bed. The only "job" he needs is being a loved family member. Zane can easily and happily entertain himself with a good stuffy toy, and would love to have a whole basket of them so he can make piles on his dog bed with all of his favorites. So cute! Zane is so calm, generally speaking, but will occasionally host a little comedy show for you- he really knows how to make us humans laugh. Hell pounce on his dog bed like a little hunter, throw his toys up in the air and catch them in his mouth, or make silly faces while he receives pets. Zane loves to chew on bones, and frequently ends his night chomping on his bone in his dog bed, at his foster moms feet. He does so well matching the vibe, perfectly content to calmly watch a movie with you, but also willing and able to go for a jog with you!
Zane is housetrained, crate trained, and is so so so easy on leash. He knows a few commands as well! Watch the video to see him in action! Meeting new people, Zane does really well. Hes initially friendly, but will take a moment to fully warm up to new humans. then hes all about the love. In new environments, Zane can sometimes be a bit nervous, but it never translates to hostility with him. With a little more practice being in new places, Zane will make an excellent adventure buddy. Hes so sweet, this boy would adore a day out at a patio cafe, just soaking up all of the love and making new friends. Hes very calm and settles quickly, he would have no issue just hanging out at your feet while you enjoy your meal. He loads and rides well in the car so he will be an excellent co-pilot! From lazy strolls through the neighborhood to a mountain top adventure, Zane will be your loyal companion, and is just happy to spend time with you.
Zane is a true gem of a dog. One of those kinds of dogs that will return so much love, he will be the one you compare all others that come after. Zane will love your kids like theyre his own- he has more patience for children than most adult humans do, and hes so so sweet with them. Zane has so much sweetness and personality to him that I know hell quickly feel like a true part of the family. He would love to have a home with kids, other dogs, or even a single person or couple! He's ready for it all! As long as there's love he will be nothing but grateful. Zane was professionally cat-tested here at the rescue, and our behavior team recommends a home with no kitties. He was also small-dog tested, and did well a 15 pound scruffy little guy.

Our PNW dogs are brought to you in style by a beautiful USDA licensed semi-truck, equipped with air conditioning for comfort, two drivers, and 2 onboard attendants providing 24 hour care. Our East Coast route will travel in a private, air conditioned 3LP-run van transport.
Pick up day is unforgettable! You will get to follow along on their journey through a private FB Event page, where you will see photos, have the opportunity to connect with other adopters, and receive updates and constant communication along the way. One of our Adoption Coordinators can help to find the closest transport pick up location to you!
The adoption fee is $750.00 and includes all vetting as recommended by our doctor: DAPP (2 to 4 depending on age and time in the program), Bordetella, Rabies vaccine (if old enough), multiple broad spectrum deworming treatments, spay/neuter, flea prevention, 2 months of heartworm preventative, extended medical such as dentals, eye surgeries, and orthopedic surgeries prior to adoption when suggested by our partner vets, a microchip with free lifetime registration, a high quality nylon Martingale collar for dogs over 4 months old, a health certificate deeming the pup healthy for travel, cost of transport*, and many priceless years of love and loyal companionship!
*WE ARE TOLD THAT WE GO ABOVE AND BEYOND MEDICALLY. This is the feedback we tend to get, although we cannot guarantee perfect health.
*To fully vet a dog in the PNW at many vets it would be upwards of $1,800 just to fix, vaccinate, chip, etc. The adoption fees charged by our rescue do not cover our expenses medically for each animal, but we offset costs with donations. Your adoption fee is considered a donation towards actual costs.
